Perhaps the most inseparable part of Vidyapith's daily life
are the hostels which becomes the cause of both joy and sorrow
for the students.Every hostel in vidyapith is
given an unique name; in the name of the holy Ramakrishna Dev's
followers. Here you can see the picture of Matri Sadan which is
the hostel of the 9-10 standard boys. In this hostel one boy has
to live for 2 years until when he leaves the alma mater.
Similarly, there is the Ramkrishna Sadan where the 9-10 boys stay.
It may seem confusing but actually each batch stays in one of
these two sadans in the last two classes. So, each sadan sends
its batch to madhyamik in alternate years. When a boy is admitted
to class 4; he stays in Shivananda Sadan till he gets to class
seven. when he is changed to Vivekananda Sadan.
Here you will be able to see this sadan. As you can see for
yourself this sadan is famous for its well-maintained gardens and
cleanliness. From here in class 8 they have to go to Brahmananda
Sadan. It is a big building and perhaps the most spacious hostel
in vidyapith. From here the boys go either to Ramakrishna Sadan (odd
year batches) or to Madri Sadan (even year batches). Though it
seems nothing but in fact to change the hostel every year gives
much mental pain and sorrow to the vidyapith students. Every year
several competitions are held between different hostels and
classes; like gardening and games. Which gives them a taste of
community living and fellow feelings.
